We are an 'Apostolic' movement that establishes apostolic churches. Apostolic means: Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornestone (See Ephesians 2:20).
We originated as a 'church' / 'movement' at the time of Pentecost (Hebrew ' Shavuot' ). Hence the name Pentecostal Church or Pentecostal Movement.
What we belief:
We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God. Complete in full truth and accuracy, and without any contradictions. In it we find the expression of God’s love for mankind, His instructions for us to live a lifestyle that is holy and pleasing to Him, and the path to eternal life as God planned for us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Saviour – in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe that God is One (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10) and He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe in the Biblical plan of salvation, proclaimed by the Apostles on the Day of Pentecost—the birthday of the New Testament church. This includes faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost just as believers did in the first century (Acts 2:1-39; 10:40-48).
We believe and practice all that is available to us in God’s promises to New Testament Christians through the Gifts of the Spirit.
We believe in fulfilling the great commission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love
(Matthew 28:19-20).
We believe in expressing our Christianity through a culture of passionate worship, love and respect, compassion, and inclusion of all nations in our churches, under One Saviour.
We are an Apostolic Faith Pentecostal Church , a vibrant and independent church that believes in the power of God who can change every human life, regardless of background, and wants to bring you into His destiny through a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are a start-up church and fall under the Fire of God Ministries.
Our history
In July 2020, an outreach was launched in the city of Groningen from the Fire of God Ministries with the aim of bringing people to faith and making disciples.The outreach arose because of the Corona crisis, which caused churches to close.
This outreach has now grown into a small young church, so after our first boardmeeting in February 2021 it was officially decided to continue the outreach as a Pentecostal church called Bethel.
Our full name is (and will continue to be known as) Bethel Pentecostal Fellowship. Bethel stands for house of God (see meaning Beth-el).
Pentecostal stands for (Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues) thus a Pentecostal church and Fellowship, stands for 'Family' of believers.
We also call ourselves ' Apostolic' because our foundation is what the Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 2:20. We do not use the doctrines of the Church Fathers, but only teach what the Bible teaches.
You may wonder, why an English name? This is because we are a multicultural / international community. Because of the diversity of our visitors, we want to express that diversity through an English name.
